Role Objectives:

As the Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping, implementing, and maintaining both in-person and online programs aligned with GYLC’s objectives. Your responsibilities will include developing program assessment tools, upholding organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance, overseeing project teams and volunteers, and efficiently managing budgets and funding channels for maximum productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the CEO and program volunteers to define the scope, deliverables, resources, work plan, budget, and timing for GYLC’s new initiatives.
  • Manage partnerships with government, universities, funders, youth initiatives, and local and international organizations working on youth leadership, climate adaptation, mitigation, and resilience.
  • Write proposals and support the CEO in business development.
  • Lead the development of online green skills courses for youth in Africa and Asia.
  • Manage budgets for projects, ensuring accountability for delivering against established organizational goals and objectives.
  • Supervise and mentor GYLC Youth Climate Champions for their community projects funded by GYLC across climate-vulnerable countries.
  • Collaboratively organize the annual Global Youth Climate Summit.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, providing insightful reports for management and funders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of experience in a managerial role, preferably in program management.
  • Exceptional skills in leadership, time management, facilitation, and organization.
  • Proven experience in managing stakeholders in an international work environment.
  • Working knowledge of climate change, youth entrepreneurship, digital marketing, and proposal writing.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in environmental science/management or a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of the MS Office suite.
  • Previous experience in proposal writing.
  • Willingness to attend virtual meetings across different time zones and to travel internationally.

Salary and Benefits:
